in one of India's leading conglomerate
one promotion, CEO Divisional award
International Experience : worked With US based Innovation consultants
Certification : Six Sigma Black Belt, QC tools- Union of Japanese Scientists & Engineers
Undergrad : B.Tech in mechanical & automation Engg ( 74.6/100)
Languages : English, Hindi, german
Community Service: WWF Student Ambassador
CSR Champion for Empowering Rural Indian Women
Couple of Leadership experience in college hostel, internship with brands such as GE, Voith, NTSE scholar amongst others. I also have some start up experience in formulation and execution of market research.
Post MBA, I plan to work in FMCG industry in corporate strategy or marketing domain. I'm also working towards completing online MOOC's in business strategy & marketing.

Hi there!
Thanks for sharing your profile. Your work experience seems very strong...I really like the promotion & award, strong technical experience, plus exposure to colleagues in the US. I love the fact that you are taking some courses too, that will definitely help to "sell" your career goal story, since transitioning from a technical field to marketing or strategy can be difficult. Think about other ways you can show transferable skills and steps you are taking to make those goals a reality. Your extracurriculars seem a little light (sound like they are mostly college based?) and your GMAT is a bit lower than the averages of most of the schools you list, so those are my primary concerns. Is taking one more time before the March deadline an option to see if you improve? Also something to think about is that the March deadlines can be pretty tough...there are not many spaces in the class left at that point...so make sure you apply to a range of schools including at least one, ideally two, safe schools (a good rule of thumb is that your GMAT should be above the average for it to be considered safe, so Case Western would qualify there). Perhaps also consider Fisher at Ohio State?

Hi kate ,
I think i was not very clear about my work experience. Although I'm an engineer , my work profile majorly revolves around marketing and consumer service in both rural and urban setting. I was also hoping my experience with a start up would supplement my need to move a full time strategy role for developing economies
With regard to extra curriculars , I currently volunteer as part of SAE international to encourage government school children to take up science projects.(AWIM). I have also captained the office's basketball team during my term as a trainee. As part of community outreach program, I educate old people and less privileged on usage of technology.
In addition, I anchor shows ranging from cultural festivals to annual communication meets. I hold (twice a month) career mentoring sessions with trainees and high school children of plant workers. Also been the winner for Tata Crucible online Quiz & Literary events at office.
And I don't know if it counts but I'm an avid traveller and have travelled to over 25 locations of 32 listed UNESCO sites in india.( plan to complete it before my MBA
)
I do realise the severe time crunch but i wanted to apply in R2 for some schools. So based on this, could you suggest some safety schools (US, Europe & Asia) ? Fisher is on my list as well. Is HEC a stretch school for me ? I do plan to retake the exam (most probably by feb ) and then apply to my dream schools.
