Hi,
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi Shyam,
You have a decent profile- your work experience is a little low as the sweet spot for most of these b-schools about 4-5 years of work experience. If you are very sure you are going to apply this year, do ascertain that your leadership capability is visible through your resume, essays and recommendations.
INSEAD, Darden, UCLA and Haas look tough to me - you will need to beef up your work profile, your GMAT score and your extra curricular achievements for these - think of doing something extra-ordinary that helps to set you apart.
Your career goals will need to be more specific - finance, consulting, entrepreneurship - that's a lot on your plate. Adcoms will look for more granularity there. How do your career goals tie to what you have done so far? Finance and consulting are two very different industries and we don't as yet know about your inclination towards either of the two. A lot of applicants write about entrepreneurship as their long term career goal, therefore in our opinion, we would urge you to exercise some caution here and really think through this- what kind of stuff would you like to do? Why will you be good at it?
Why do you want to wait for Round 2? You have a big list of b-schools (which needs vetting) so you need to split your applications between R1 and R2 to submit good applications.
