So one thought is-- you could always just go TAKE the GMAT without the whole long prep-process... just in case you are pleasantly surprised! But not really devoting a ton of time to it as the 710 is quite solid already... I just figured since you have plenty of time until you can even start working much on essays and such, there's not much to lose by just scheduling it, maybe doing some very minimal prep and seeing what happens. ;) Good luck either way and keep us posted on how we can help!

mbaMissionJenK can you help me with this. If I apply in R2 itself, as I might for one school to get an experience, I have to choose two recommenders. One will be my former supervisor from Oracle (team lead and mentor) and second, my manager at the current startup. But my current manager has supervised me for only 3 months as of now and is himself applying for MBA! Would that hurt the weightage on his recommendation? Both these are people who have directly supervised, observed, and guided me and who I can trust.

My only other option would be the director from Oracle who I reported to. But I really don't know what he would say since he managed a large organization where I was the youngest member, and moreover, after I left, two other members had followed the startup route and made an exit.

Really worried here.
