Hi,
Thank you in advance for taking time to review my profile. I was hoping you could give me a critical evaluation on my general profile.
Target School: INSEAD, IMD, Wharton, HEC (in that order of preference)
Nationality: Pakistan
Age: 29
Work experience: 5 years+
GMAT Score: 740
Undergrad program: BA in Economics (from a well reputed business school in Pakistan). GPA: 2.9.
Extra carriculars: President of Management club in the university. Organized various seminars of management and entrepreneurship.
Languages: Urdu, English (fluent), French (fluent), Spanish (intermediate), Arabic (intermediate)
Nature of Work Experience:
1) Interned multiple times during undergrad program.
2) After graduation, moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, started a contracting company with my father in the construction sector (dealing in utilities).
3) Started with zero capital and reached a turnover of SR 18 Million during the year June 2013 to June 2014.
4) Spearheaded almost all projects myself during a period of 4.5 years.
5) Since the past 9 months, hired sufficient people to take care of business (moved from a mix of operational and executive role to just the executive function), and started working as a business development and marketing consultant at an international oil and gas firm in Saudi Arabia (the reason behind working for another company is to look for business opportunities within the oil and gas sector, perhaps as a specialty technology representation company). This new venture will be in addition to the current venture in the construction industry.
I would really appreciate a feedback on my profile. How well do you think I fit in the crowd at INSEAD. My poor GPA is a concern for me. My languages, entrepreneurial experience, and exposure to both construction and oil and gas sector seems to add value to my profile as a candidate.

Thanks for posting, and CONGRATS on your GMAT.
You've done a pretty good job self-analyzing your strengths and weaknesses at the end of your post; I agree your biggest weakness is that GPA if on a 4.0 scale and somewhat equivalent to a US GPA (not always the case; schools will assess within the context of your country). The GMAT helps some, but it could be a concern. Otherwise yes your entrepreneurial experience and likely vast general management exposure will be beneficial, and the industry exposure, as well as your international experiences, are all beneficial. The details of how you've specifically contributed, what you've accomplished, how you've shown leadership, and so on, will all influence the decision as well (evidenced through your resume, essays, and recommendations for example). So far I could see you at INSEAD yes, with the global perspective and start up and various management experiences, with again the challenge being the GPA, so I'd encourage you to really work on those essays and showing the WHY... why do you need this degree? Why INSEAD (or xyz school) in particular? Etc as that could make the difference in getting an interview.
