Hey everyone,
I’m trying to finalize my applications and could really use some advice.
Target programs ranking:- Oxford MFE
- LBS MFA
- LSE MFin
- HSG MBF
- Imperial MFin
Profile:- GMAT Focus: 595 - V85, Q77, DI77 (≈650 equivalent - first try). From what I’ve seen, Oxford seems to require at least ~645-675, so I’m basically out there, right?
- TOEFL iBT: 110+
- GPA: 4.0 (best of cohort)
- Internships: multiple M&A and PE internships (tier 2 IBD, top PE fund, boutique advisory)
- Strong Extracurricular activities and rommendations
The dilemma:- Apply now with 595. Maybe skip Oxford, but try the other 4.
- Retake at end of March. Risk of little/no improvement, but also realistic chance to push into 675+. But Oxford’s deadline (March 9) would be missed anyway.
- Apply to all 5 now with current score and just see what happens.
Questions:- Is Oxford completely unrealistic with 595 (650 eq.), even with a strong overall profile?
- How competitive are my chances at the other schools with this score?
- Would you retake or just apply with what I have now?
Any input would be super helpful. Thanks!
Hi
TestTaker0Thanks for sharing your profile — it’s strong across most dimensions: GPA 4.0, multiple relevant internships in M&A and PE, strong extracurriculars, and excellent recommendations. Your TOEFL 110+ also meets all requirements comfortably.
Oxford MFE: With a 595 Focus (~650 equivalent), Oxford is a reach, but not impossible. Retaking and aiming for 660–675+ would make you a strong contender.
LBS MFA, LSE MFin, HSG MBF, Imperial MFin: Your quantitative strength and relevant internships make you highly competitive. You have every reason to feel confident about these applications.
Strategy: Apply now to LBS, LSE, HSG, and Imperial — your profile is already compelling. Retake the GMAT if you aim to strengthen your Oxford application.
