Hi,
I am a former professional tennis player from India. I am 32 years old. I did my undergraduation in Management Information Systems (MIS) in the U.S at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. I have a GPA of 3.0. I played college tennis and went on the ATP/ITF tour afterwards for a few years. I was fortunate to travel around the world during my time as a tennis pro. I am also a former national champion. Due to some tough circumstances I dropped out of the tour a couple of years back.
Getting an MBA has always been one of my goals. I would like to enroll for the 2015 fall if possible. However, as I am doing this on my own so far, I don't have enough information on how to go about it. I would like some advice on how to go about this. I am yet to write my GMAT as I have been preparing only since end of Jan. I plan to write it in April or March end (if absolutely necessary).
Last 2 years I have been working as a tennis coach with National level tennis players. I also have some work experience with software consulting with a local company here. I understand that I am not the usual type of applicant who has been working in MNCs and business firms. What do you think my chances are of getting into a good Business school? I will be grateful if you can provide me with some advice or any suggestion which you think might help me. Thank you.
Hey there,
Well if you have goals that make sense (i.e. some sort of sports management) then there's no reason why you can't make a great MBA application.
It's true that you should forget about 2015. That application season has come and gone. Instead start preparing yourself NOW for the coming application season, and prepare yourself to apply in R1 for 2016.
