Hey
Antarag,
To begin with, your undergraduate GPA of 7.4 is pretty decent and showcases your academic prowess.
As far as your work experience goes, since an MBA is a manager's degree and requires significant work experience, your 3.8 years of work experience would put you at par with other applicants. Since you haven’t mentioned the company’s name/brand, I would like to tell you that a big brand name plays a crucial role in the selection process, and therefore will give an upper hand to the candidates having more extensive work experience hailing from big 4 brands. In order to counter this, you ought to explain and highlight the major projects of your work and how these experiences helped you develop and further groom your skills and knowledge, and also the impact created during this tenure.
Coming to your extracurriculars, you have a lot of social volunteering experiences which are again great value additions. These showcase your ability to spearhead initiatives, impact others, and empathize with other people. B-schools are looking for applicants that are future leaders and such experiences and qualities most certainly vouch for your abilities and strengthen your application.
Moving forward, in order to target the top MBA colleges, you should be aiming for a GMAT score of at least 700.
Coming to your main concern, I would highly advise you not to leave your current job as gaps in one’s profile are not appreciated by the top B schools. What I would recommend is that you keep looking for a role in the desired field, i.e., Marketing, while continuing your role in this job.
The schools that you can be targeting with the above-mentioned (expected) score in the countries of your choice are listed below.
Canada: Rotman (University of Toronto), Ivey Business School, Schulich, UBC
Singapore: NUS, NTU, SMU, ESSEC, INSEAD
UK: LBS, WARWICK, CASS
All things considered, while you have a competitive profile, to increase your chances of getting admitted to these schools you would need to ensure that you have a very strong application (consisting of - Essays, LORs, and Resume) that highlights your strengths and overshadows your weaknesses in order to differentiate your profile. You need to showcase your journey, what makes you different from your peers, and how you are a great value addition to the school.
Therefore, in lieu of that, I would recommend you to check out our flagship ALL-IN-ONE service, which has helped 3500+ applicants get into their dream schools. You would also be entitled to end-to-end consulting combined with unlimited edits on your application documents. Not only this, you’d be consulted by a B-school alumnus who’d be helping you directly with your application process, right from finalizing the right schools and submitting an impactful application to the school to preparing you for the interview and bagging scholarships!
