Hey all!
I'm right now thinking of applying to some MSc Finance programme in UK next autumn. I would like to get some advice for improving my profile and what would be good target GMAT score for me to get into programmes I want.
Right now I'm thinking these programmes:
- Oxford MSc in Financial Economics
- LSE MSc Finance and Economics, MSc Finance and Private Equity
- Imperial MSc Finance, MSc Accounting and Finance
- HEC Paris International Finance
- Rotterdam School of Management MSc Advanced Finance and Investments
From these schools I consider HEC and Rotterdam as my back-up-plans because my ultimate goal is to work in London after the studies. Do you think I should apply some other school as well?
And here is my profile:
- School: Best business school in Finland
- Programme and major: BSc in Economics and Business Administration, majoring in accounting
- GPA: 4,8-4,9/5, probably going to be top 3% of whole class. There is usually no students with gpa of 5/5.
- Extracurriculars: Board member in accounting student association, part of student council (School's outside relations)
- Work experience: I will have 7 months of experience from big4 when I will apply. Mainly basic accounting stuff but in Finland it is harder to get good internships. For example in my team, all the rest of the new workers have either graduated in MSc or are graduating soon.
- GMAT: I will probably have strong Quant (have always liked and been good in math) score but verbal will be a bit harder as I'm slow reader.. :/
- Study experience abroad: I have studied a year in Canada during high school and also I will study in USA before I graduate.
So what you think my chances will be? And what is a good target for GMAT if I want in LSE or Oxford (the minimum target I need to have good chances)?
Thank you already in advance, I would appreciate the help a lot.
