Hello,

I have 5 years of work experience in data warehousing domain, I have done my BEIT. I am tired of being into coding now I want to move into business side like being business analyst etc
I had started my studies but was on a break again due to work presaure, my GMAT date is 9th May 2017 and I have taken leave from office for a month.

Please help me to answer the below questions:-
1. If I am full time available to study now some suggestion how do I proceed
I am currently solving questions from GMAT guide and also have studied Manhattan series.

2. I am just giving GMAT I have no preparation like which MBA to choose which country and my budget.
I have heard of data analytics these days .
Please help.

My ssc score is 71%
Diploma in IT 74%
BEIT 66%
I have always been an average student need some motivation.

Hello,

The starting point of GMAT preparation is often a diagnostic. If you are comfortable with the type of Quant and Verbal questions that are asked, you could try our free adaptive practice test here:

It will tell you exactly where you stand in your preparation right now.
If you get about 700 in this, you would know that you are almost there (assuming your target is around that). All you would need is some focus on particular concepts.
A 600 score would indicate strong basics but a lack of understanding of advanced concepts.
and so on...

When I had taken the test it was about 430 and target score is 650+

Hi prernark,

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores. However, your current plan allows for just about 4 weeks of study time and that is likely not enough time to raise a 430 to a 650+ (and even taking 'time off' from work won't change that). Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam - so with the proper study time and study materials, you CAN train to score at a higher level. In addition, a 650+ is a reasonable goal, but you will have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections - and all of that work will take time. While you don't have to decide just yet, you might want to pay the $50 fee to push back your Test Date (which would save you some money and eliminate some of the 'stresses' that will come from trying to cram for 4 weeks).

1) It's okay that you don't know which Business Schools to apply to yet, but do you know when you want to apply?

Actually I had also started my studies long back but due to my office it went on hold for a month.

And I am planning to apply this year the one which starts after June.

Hi prernark,

I'm hoping that you can you go into a bit more detail about your prior studies:
1) How long did you study?
2) What practice materials did you use?
3) Have you taken any other practice Tests (and if so, then how did you score?)?

Based on this recent 430, it's still likely going to take you at least 3 months of proper study time to improve to a 650+ (which would mean taking the GMAT sometime in late July or August).

What if we take GMAT twice the avg score is considered or the latest one?
