KPMG is of course a well-known firm and the consulting/advisory practices are seen as more selective than accounting/tax/audit, so yes, I think that will be considered good work experience. The only caveat is that there are lots of MBA applicants from Big 4 firms, so it won't be the most unique work profile. You could differentiate via another pre-MBA job in between now and then, some strong extracurricular activities, an interesting personal story, or other possibilities!

Hope that helps,
Kate

Many thanks for your advice!!

Just another question, you think it will be competitive to have an experience of 3 years in consulting KPMG advisory to apply for good MBA in Europe or it would be better to have different work experience?

Hi GiacomoFrax, thanks for reaching out to us at mbaMission with your profile and questions. And congrats on the IESE acceptance! Given your age and experience level, a MiM degree is definitely a good fit for you now. It is a new program of course so there's no placement data, but I imagine coming from a top school like IESE, you'd get a good ROI and opportunities to switch to better jobs. Do you have specific target roles/companies/industries in mind? If so, I'd look at comparable MiM programs and make sure those sorts of opportunities are available to MiM candidates. Similarly, a top MBA program would also have a good ROI and job opportunities, so I think it just depends on when you want to get that career boost. Having the MiM wouldn't preclude you from doing a full MBA in the future, though of course it would be another big investment so I can see why you want to pick one or the other. Again, I think it depends on your goals and personal timing and risk tolerance (since your MiM opportunity is certain). There's no right answer that applies to everyone in this situation, but I hope these thoughts are helpful in your decision.

Thanks,
Kate

Hi!!

Thanks in advance for the answers.

I’m a 23 years old male from Italy looking for a boost in its career. I’ve already taken the GMAT (690; 47Q, 38V)

I already have an undergraduate degree as well as a master in a private Italian University (not well know outside but with good placements within the country).

Right now I’m working at KPMG Advisory in the Risk and Compliance sector (In public sector particularly, started as an internship but ended with a contract offer) and I’m evaluating the two paths in front of me:

- taking another Master at IESE business school (the new Master in Management), I’ve already been accepted to it, hoping to find a better job

- working for some years at KPMG (I guess 3-4 years, with more years my gmat will expire), and invest in a MBA (maybe Bocconi or IESE).

I’m still thinking to the two path and of course my objective is to invest 40-50k once, so between a MiM at IESE or a MBA in a good business school.

Of course I would like to know if I take any chance for an MBA if I still go on working at KPMG.

Thank you again!!
