I hope this post finds you well. I am planning to apply for Harvard/Stanford/Wharton/Sloan MBA (Class of 2022) and would love to hear from you about you first glance on my profile.
- Personal: 28 year old male from South East Asia (Philippines/Indonesia/Thailand)
- Post MBA goal: to work in private equity/VC to cultivate meaningful businesses.
- Working experiences: 6 years in financial services, currently as an equity research associate at a major IB (JPMorgan/Goldman Sachs/Morgan Stanley). Prior to this I have been at a major domestic fund manager.
- GMAT: 740 (Q50, V41)
- Academic: Bachelor from Australian National University (Rank 22 global in QS and 49 in Times ranking). My GPA is 6.29/7 according to university scale. This might translates to 3.8/4 US GPA using WES conversion. I am also a CFA Charterholder
- Honors and Awards: Letter of Commendation of University Chancellor for outstanding academic achievement in 2011.
- Extracurricular Activities: I am currently coaching a group of runners in my office. I co-managed a small charity funds in my last company and organized charity events with the team. When I was in university, I found and managed a student's club (50+ members), organized 2 large scale events (150-200 participants)
- Essay idea: I have a multi-cultural background: educated in a first world country but grow up in a third-world country. At my current role, I have been working towards connecting these 2 worlds by helping global investors to analyze the domestic stock market. This lead to my passion to help growing business as a PE/VC investor in emerging countries.
