Hello Experts,
I am Gabriel, could you please evaluate my profile for some MBA programs?
Applying in R1 or R2.
1. Demographics - 28, Brazilian, Male
2. Educational Qualification:
- Under-Graduation: Brazilian Army Military Academy (Public Administration).
- GPA: 8,55/10
- Graduate: Currently taking a Msc in International Business and Marketing at Université d'Angers (FRA), will finish next year
3. GMAT: Official Practice, 1st time (600 Q44 V27) - Target score: 700 (gotta upgrade my verbal)
4. Work Experience: 5 years – Brazilian Army Commissioned Officer - 1st Lieutenant
- Chief of IT section of a Brazilian Army Battalion for 1 year (lead a tem of 6)
○ Platoon leader for 2 years (lead a platoon with 30 personnel)
○ Company Commander for 1 year (lead a company with 90 personnel)
○ Currently an Instructor at the Brazilian Army Airborne School - Rigger School.
o Positions:
Senior Consultant(1st Promotion within 24 months)
Associate Consultant
o Recognitions:
• Piloting the senior job—role prospects for my company with SAP Ariba, a new spectrum of service-partnership. Only one in the company to have
been selected for the position.
• For Outstanding Performance by the Client company. Received Company and Client Appreciations for several projects.
• Worked and accomplished over 400 Integrations(projects) over a span of 3 years highest metrics within the company.
• Have been constantly achieving 20k(USD) for integrations done quarterly for the company meeting the project metrics.
- International Exposure:
o Worked with the US Army at Fort Polk, LA during 2 months as an part of a training program between the 82nd Airborne Division and the Brazilian Army Airborne Brigade.
o Logistics officer during my time with the US Army, planning the Brazilian troops airlands, with more than 30,000 lb of cargo and $10M+ in equipments.
5. Extra-Curricular:
• Wrote a Field Manual of the characteristics of a Rigger Battalion.
• Managed the costing and procurement of materials used at the rigger facilities, reducing the costs from $320k to $80k.
• Volunteered teaching English to soldiers with low income during 4 years
• Volunteered preparing meals and giving it to people who lost their jobs during the covid pandemic.
6. Interests and Hobbies:
- Triathlon and American football, reading and drinking coffee
- luxury management, fashion market and sustainability
7. Post MBA Goals:
- Primary - Want to leave Brazil and work in the US/EU
- Intermediate and Long-term – Progress into core leadership roles. Eventually, into the senior leadership and pivotal roles.

A: Aside from the GMAT, yes. You have the right grades, experience and age (among other factors) to be considered.
b. Are these reasonable choices?
A: If you can crack 700 (or come close to it), then yes. If not, you may need to adjust your choices.
c. Can you suggest any other B-schools that are better suited for my career choices and profile?
A: You haven't really listed actual career choices. Talks of working the US/EU and taking on senior leadership roles don't really clarify anything in terms of what you want to study and which programs would be a good fit. Please extrapolate.
d. What are the other areas of improvement? What are the major weaknesses in the profile?
A: The major area of improvement is the GMAT. Your extracurricular activities aren't really that robust. I realize that may not be an option for someone in your line of work/experience, but that would be an area I would focus on if you have time. If you are intent on R1/R2 of this year, you should go all in on the GMAT and the actual application itself (essays, letters of reference, CV, etc.)

The areas I'd like to be working at: fashion market, luxury management and marketing research. Therefore, I believe that I should apply to schools that have a strong marketing program.
