Hello there!
Would love any thoughts you have on my profile if I'm applying to schools like Kellogg, Wharton, Booth, Fuqua, Columbia (schools known for great marketing programs).
25 year-old female
3.5 GPA - 2011 Barnard College grad (Poli Sci Major/Spanish Minor)
690 GMAT (42Q/42V)
Accepted to Forte Foundation's MBALaunch 2015 program (supports women who are applying to business school, has some connections with adcoms)
Will be taking a basic statistics course this spring to help remedy my uneven quant score and no undergrad math courses
Post grad work experience: 2 years as a litigation paralegal at a very prestigious law firm, followed by [current] 1.5 years as Community Manager at iCrossing (well-known international digital media agency). I am interested in going to business school for marketing, specifically strategy/planning (and particularly digital strategy). I've established myself as a thought leader at my agency, with regular contributions to the agency's blog, taking on strategy projects, attending strategy training courses..etc. I'm hoping to leave soon and get some type of strategy position at a similarly well-regarded digital or traditional ad firm in NYC. Held a variety of internships during college, spending a summer in Korea designing curriculum and teaching business English and debate to elementary and college students as part of a small fellowship; also worked college summers as a marketing associate at a tiny marketing venture in San Francisco.
Extracurriculars: I took on pro-bono social strategy work for a Paleo food start-up before getting hired at iCrossing, I'm an Alumnae Admissions Rep for Barnard, and I was a mentor for this year's NYC Global Sustainability Jam. I've also been selected to be Yelp Elite for four years, and have been Reviewer of the Day for Brooklyn/Manhattan five times.
Thank you in advance for any and all feedback!!
