Qualification- BTech(Electrical Engg)
CGPA - 6.2/10 (First class)

Year of graduation - 2007
Work ex - total at the time of application in oct 2014 = 7+ years
wrk ex 1: (current) --> Team leader at Inautix Technology, A BNY Mellon company
Domain : Banking & Finance
Area of work : Business intelligence, data analytics
Role : Team leader, Solution architect, Business Analyst & s/w developer cum designer for BNY Mellon
Team Size : 6
Working closely with the BNY Mellon team based out of NY office and Pittsburg office.
Project Details : Evaluate and calculate the profitability of BNY Mellon product wise and suggest to the BNY Mellon business team the areas(product)
where profit can be increased. End products of my project are BI reports which would be shared with top management of BNY Mellon.
Work ex 2 : Cognizant Technology Sol Ltd
Domain : BFS (Retail Banking)
Cleint : Barclays (Retail banking)
Role : Technical Leader, lead a team of 5 resources. Was also the HCM supervisor for my team members.
worked as the programme co ordinator for 4 different teams. Handled weekly status calls, updating end client abt the status.
Project Details: A huge project for Barclays UK for migration of the data from one CRM tool to another.
***( my work was appreaciated by the client. Can get recommendations from Barclays delviery managers)
work ex 3: Tech Mahindra Ltd
Domain : Telecom
Client : ATT USA.
Role: Team member. Started my career as a fresher. Mentored new joiners to the team, etc.
Positive points : 1. Good experience of working in Finance domain. Have worked for top banks like BNY Mellon and Barclays.
Would like to use this pre MBA experience in banking domain and pursue a career in Finance post MBA.
2. Planning to take CFA level 1 to strengthen my profile in finance. and other certifications in finance like NCFM,etc.
3. Right mix of knowledge of banking domain and technology involved in analytics viz. Business intelligence reporting,
SAS ABM (activity based modelling). SAS Activity-Based Management is an analytic application that models business processes to determine cost, profitability and drivers. With this solution, organizations can make informed decisions that streamline processes,
deliver revenue growth and reduce costs across the organization.
Negative points :
1. Low gpa. (can that be covered in some way? like health issues during exams ,etc)
2. No onsite experience. (how badly can this hurt?)
Could you please suggest me which schools can I aim for ? If I can get a score of 650-710 ?
I know I cant think of top 20 (FT rankings), but where do I stand otherwise? PLease help

Thanks for dropping by good sir.
So a few thoughts about your profile.
First, there's not really much point thinking hypothetically about where you might apply if you do get score X. Wait until you get that score and then decide. Do the best you can, and then let's see.
Second, regarding the CFA. don't get your hopes up too much here (but DO do it!). I mean that yes in reality when you look for a job it will help you, but as far as strengthening your application for B-school, or making your finance change sound better, it's not gonna help much.
Which leads me to point three - I'd highly advise AGAINST you writing that you want to change to finance in your application. Do you know how many Indian Tech folks want to move into finance after Bschool? Most of them! And do you know how often this happens? Not very…. So this is probably not your best goal. But what is good is that you do have leadership. So I'd suggest presenting goals in which you stick to analytics (it can be in another industry though) and just move up in terms of management responsibility. It will sound more realistic, plausible and concrete.
