Hi,
I have entrepreneurship experience of about 4 years, do you think that I would be at any disadvantage when it comes to seeking employment post MBA degree? I wish to go into Consulting or Marketing function.
And how much importance do the B-schools give to entrepreneurship experience as compared to managerial experience in a company when making a decision for admits? Again, will I be at any disadvantage while applying to business schools for MBA program given my entrepreneurship experience?
P.S. my business consists of procuring and supplying grains to mills and factories which process those grains, and I would be targeting Canadian B-schools such as Rotman, Ivey, Queens and Schulich.
Any comments or responses would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Raffay,
Entrepreneurs are valued people! You guys have got your hands dirtied in a lot of pies, and have faced and dealt with challenges of the real world. Presenting a strong application will be the key to gaining success. Use the application to tell about your strengths and achievements and show the richness of your experience. Also, do explain why you want to do an MBA now, and what your short term and long term career goals are.
B-schools don't prefer one profile over the other, but they do want to gauge that you will contribute something to the class and culture. So you are definitely not at a disadvantage.
