Hi, I am Indian LGBT applicant with 4 years of experience.
UG: b.tech in computer science with 81%
GMAT:740
work experience:
1 year fellow in an NGO teaching underprivileged students in rural india.
3 years in indian top government sector bank. joined in their 2 year rotational program with rotation for every 6 months.
supervising the work of 4 clerks in my branch. got one promotion
Extra-Curricular experiences:
active volunteer in MINGLE, India's first LGBT empowerment ngo.Only government sector employee in this NGO. conducted several works for uplifting the social status of transgenders in india. conducted several counseling sessions for prevention of HIV/AIDS in LGBT community.
organized several programs for financial literacy for farmers.
co head of national level cultural fest.
post mba goal: management consulting.
i have a couple of questions.
should i mention my LGBT status in application as being LGBT is crime in INDIA?
how ADCOMS view my NGO experience as I left NGO for my job in government bank?

Hey first of all I like your profile! Your GMAT is awesome, your work experience is strong and diverse, and your grades are good (but from what school?)
As an active member of the LGBT movement in a country where its outlawed, you should for SURE use the story... not only will it make your application very memorable, Im sure it has given you a unique perspective, and could make a great story.

thanks jon for your reply.I am not from Teach for India as it has no presence in my state and language.how ADCOMS view my role transition from teaching to bank? I am worried about questions like why u left teaching? my original answer is I always wanted to teach for underprivileged students so taking the help an ngo i got job in rural school after my graduation . I did that after my graduation because i thought it is best time to do before entering into corporate world. SO after working for 1 year i tried for normal jobs and got job in a bank rotational program. will ADCOMS satisfy with this answer?
