Hey Folks,
Can anyone Please evaluate my profile for ISB 2021 intake:
Age: 25
GMAT Score: 740 (Quant-50, Verbal-42, I.R.-6, AWA-4)
Educational Qualifications:
Graduation: B.E in Electrical Engineering in 2016 with 6.5 GPA***
I had 25 backlogs during my Engineering which I managed to clear on time(4 yrs).
XII - 59.6 CBSE (Science)
X- 64.8 ICSE
Work Experience:
Quality Engineer - 8 Months
ETL Developer - 31 Months ( I worked closely with the client on a crucial merger)
Inventory Lead/ Supervisor - 12 Months ( I am a Lean six sigma Green belt certified Professional)
Post MBA Goals:
Get into Private Equity. ( I know it is far fetched, but I am preparing for CFA level 1 and hopefully pass it before applying).
Extra-Curricular:
Started an NGO and have delegated a couple of CSR events with pharma companies.
NCC - C Certificate Holder. (Organised a national integration camp with over 2000 Participants)
Delegated AUMUN during my college days.
College-level Representation in Basketball.
Hobbies:
Travel Blogger. Trekked Bhagirathi peak ( part of Gangotri mountain range) which lies at 6880m above sea level.
My Doubts:
Will the number of backlogs during my Engineering affect my application?
Should I be more pragmatic about my Post MBA goal?

Thanks for posting. Here is our assessment:
- Overall, your GMAT score is quite good, but we need more details on your work experience - which company/industry is it for?
- Your post-PGP career goal seems infeasible from where you are right now. You need to reassess your goals, both for the application, as well as in terms of the objectives you are setting yourself
- Hobbies/leadership seem fine. You are good there. Will be very handy in ISB's first essay this year.
- The elephant in the room is of course your GPA/academic performance. The backlogs themselves may not be the issue, as you graduated on time, and still managed around 65% (not bad for someone who had 25 backlogs!), but your overall GPA is low. The major thing you could have done about it - get a good GMAT score - is something you have already done. At this point, don't worry much about it. People with these marks (and lower) have made it to ISB, so keep your confidence high on this front.
- As of now, focus on building a strong application, with just about 4 weeks for the ISB R2 deadline. Focus specifically on arriving at a realistic set of honest goals you can achieve that would be more believable for ISB too. If you do that, you should have a good chance.
