Thanks for your insights about my profile.

Victaprep Reg extracurriculars- sadly I don't have any certificates of extra activities i mentioned in my post.

I did couple of internships in chemical/pharma firms (part of my academic curriculum).

Reg MOOCs/online courses - I did few finance related courses from LinkedIn, udemy, 3 -4 yrs back, but I guess that won't be relevant now given my rest of the profile and work ex .

Dear Arihant97,

Many schools do not need certificates - they will judge you to know whether you have done it or not. And no, any course done, even if 3-4 years earlier, does count. In fact schools shouldn't feel that you started doing MOOC's when you planned for an MBA. It should come out as your genuine interest area.

Buzz me if you want to just chat up or ping me on Whatsapp :) 9003286585 - and yes, its with the perspective to help in case you need it.

Dear Arihant97,

If you are open to US, then there are many schools . The sweet spot for most MBA programs is in the 4-6 years of work experience range. Very generally speaking, other US b-schools like Columbia, NYU, Booth, etc. tend to take applicants with around this range. But if you were looking at lower-profile US schools that generally recruited students with less work experience, I would look at Baylor, Miami, Willamette, UNC Greensboro, UT Knoxville, Syracuse/Whitman, and Utah - Eccles, to start with..

Other programs if you are open to MiM etc, or MSBA etc, we have choices. Asian schools some of them too have great choices.

Hope this helps!

Kindly see my profile and let me know my prospects -
Age/Sex/Nationality - 32/M/Indian
10th - 86.33 % (all subjects)
12th - 87.33 % (all subjects)
Graduation - B.Com ( Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra) - 1st Division 62.44 %
Chartered Accountant (2012 batch)
I am a practicing Chartered Accountant (self employed entrepreneur) with 9 years of experience, leading a team of 5 on an average at all times. I am based in Agra, so exposure has been limited to small scale businesses. Clients handled - about 100 each year.
GMAT - 660 (Q 49, V 31)
President of the social club - "Alliance Club International - Agra branch"
Certificates in singing, table tennis, elocution at school level.

Looking for admission in ISB. I am confused that with the above score and profile, will I be able to get into ISB. Any suggestions and / or feedback is highly appreciated. If chances to get into my desired schools is bleak, what schools should I try, given that Round 1 for most of the schools have finished.

Hello applicant,

Thank you for sharing your profile. I am an ISB alum, CO14 and have been assisting aspirants in their application journey since the past five years. Here is my evaluation based on your profile.

GMAT: Average. A score of 680 just makes the cut, though it needs to be complemented well with other elements of your application.
ACADEMICS: Average. Your B.Tech degree sets you apart from other applicants.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Great. Your work in a non traditional industry definitely adds the diversity element. However, you will need to demonstrate how exactly your experience will add value to the learning of the cohort, where mostly folks will neither be from your industry, nor would want to make a switch to your industry
EXTRA CURRICULARS: Average.

While your work experience and GMAT Scores strengthen your candidature, you will need to showcase in your application as to how your future goals are aligned with your current skill sets and how you are planning to bring about changes in sustainable development, which is a great initiative, by the way. Also, since you have 8 years of experience, the adcom will look for the leadership roles that you have taken up in the workplace, so be sure to emphasize on them.

When it comes to extracurriculars, considering it's been long since you passed out, the activities seem a bit dated. Also, since you mentioned you do not have any certificates, it might just make you look like a jack of all trades and master of none. So be sure to pick a few activities you think you have a knack for doing and the activities you did in the workplace and talk about that.

Overall, with a stellar application, resume, and carefully worded essays and interview, you have a fairly decent chance of getting into ISB

Please feel free to get in touch with me at arijit.biswas@crackadmission.com and/or +91- 9701215544 in case you want a detailed discussion. Good luck.

Hello Arihant,

Thank you for sharing your profile. I am an ISB alum, CO14 and have been assisting aspirants in their application journey since the past five years. Here is my evaluation based on your profile.

GRE: Average
ACADEMICS: Good. Your chemical engineering degree earns you some brownie points.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Good
EXTRA CURRICULARS: Good.

Even though your GRE score is on the slightly lower end of the spectrum, you have a decent chance for a compelling profile based on your diverse work experience and unique choice of extra curricular activity plus extra knowledge of Six Sigma Green Belt. Ad coms love applicants who are multi-dimensional – your love for gaming demonstrates the “other side of you”. However, due to your lack of work experience, you will have to explain to the adcom the leadership roles you have taken up in your extracurricular activity, that is, in the organizing committee.

It seems like you have been involved in operating at the core of the companies you have worked at. However, you will need to mention some of the direct results/implications that were achieved as a result of your work. Also, you might need to explain the linkage between your current line of work and your post MBA goals.

Overall, an impactful application portraying your skills and experiences in story format, good interview and LORs might land you an interview invite.

Please feel free to get in touch with me at arijit.biswas@crackadmission.com and/or +91- 9701215544 in case you want a detailed discussion. Good luck.
