Hi isbaspirant2026 Hope this finds you well

I might receive criticism for saying this, but if you are new to B-School admissions, the first thing you must understand is that core IT profiles (TCS, Infosys, Wipro) are the most critiqued among all the segments that apply to top-tier B-Schools. I find it interesting that you worked directly with MAANG-associated clients/products, but how deeply you have understood the nuances of the technical roadmaps leading to an improved business outcome is crucial to demonstrate in your B-School applications/interviews. You will have to prepare a very strong case about post MBA plans.

Trust me when I say that if you are serious about IIM AB or ISB, you should target a very high score, ideally upwards of 330 on the GRE. Anything less, and there will always be someone from these companies with a better score or slightly better work experience, potentially snatching the seat from you.

Best wishes

Hi
My profile is not a Core IT profile as I have worked in multiple functions and also from a non engineering background.
Won't that add to diversity?

Hello isbaspirant2026,

No score guarantees an admit; however, a score in excess of 325 is what will give you a reasonable chance; of course, the higher the score, the better it is going to be.

All the best!

Hi isbaspirant2026 ! Your profile looks good. With a great MBA CGPA, professional experience at TCS, and leadership in various extracurriculars, you're positioning yourself as a well-rounded candidate. However, your undergraduate score (66%) may raise some concerns for highly competitive programs like ISB and IIMs, so it might be important to provide context around it in your essays. For the GRE, aiming for a score in the range of 320-330 would make you a competitive candidate, especially for ISB and IIM A, PGPX program, while a score closer to 325+ can strengthen your application for IIM Kozhikode's PGP BL. Additionally, focusing on measurable achievements in your work roles, such as your involvement in strategic partnerships and leadership in business initiatives, will further enhance your profile. Keep in mind that a strong application narrative, focusing on your impact and growth, alongside a good GRE score, will be key to your success. All the best!
