trunks9211,
ISB will evaluate your candidacy from 3 lenses - are you an Academic + Professional + Cultural fit to the cohort. Below is our analysis on each front.
Academic lens: You come in with a split signal. Your 10th and 12th scores are strong and reassure ISB about basic academic ability, but a 7.02 GPA from NIT Hamirpur will raise questions around consistency and prioritization during college. You should not try to defend this emotionally in essays. Instead, you need to
reframe the academic story by showing how your learning curve accelerated at work. While 675 is barely OK, examples of analytical rigor at EXL should be positioned as proof of growth, not recovery.
Professional and leadership lens: Your EXL experience needs to be positioned uniquely compared to several other applicants who have worked on similar sort of roles at organizations such as ZS, Absolutdata, Fractal, BCN etc. Direct UK client interaction and ownership of processes gives you early responsibility that many applicants with similar tenure lack. The risk is sounding like a delivery or execution profile. You must surface moments where you shaped outcomes, challenged assumptions, or improved a process beyond your mandate. Your recommender should validate this in a diplomatic manner making sure he / she doesnt come across as overselling you. Your essays should show how you learned to influence without authority.
Cultural and cohort contribution lens: Sports, elocution, and NGO work point to a well-rounded profile, but ISB will look deeper. You should reflect on how these experiences shaped your ability to work in diverse teams, handle conflict, and contribute to peer learning. Moreover, try to zoom into any one of these varied extracurricular interests and demonstrate depth there. Think about what perspectives you bring from working with international clients and process-heavy environments that classmates can learn from. Your essays need to answer one quiet question clearly: how will discussions at ISB be richer because you are in the room.
To summarize, 675 FE is a decent score to go ahead and apply for R3. Some applicants we worked with for R1 got a successful admission offer with this score. Feel free to get in touch if you seek professional guidance.
Cheers and wish you all the best !!
