Six applications in Rd 1? You realize most, if not all, of these schools' applications are going to be due mid-October?

If you want to get into SCM, what attracts you to Kellogg, Yale, and Fuqua? Just trying to figure out how you've made your school selection?

Not only SCM, solaris. I am looking at the bigger picture of wholesale distribution, specific to food industry. That includes operation, supply chain and international business.

These schools provide access to major players in this field. Kellogg is actually on top in terms of access to food and beverage companies. Additionally, my current client alos has major business operations in Chicago and most likely, I will come back to this company.

You are right about deadlines, and I still plan to apply to all five of these in round 1.

I think Kellogg is a great school for both your career and also lifestyle wise since you have a family...would you be applying to MMM at Kellogg? I would suggest Ross over Duke for SCM. Since you are married with kids I would suggest schools that have reputations of being family friendly too. So Tuck maybe a better fit than Yale, and is also older applicant friendly.

Obviously your age and demographics will be what you need to overcome, why now and career goals are definitely, along with why a FT MBA not EMBA or something like that.

As for applying to all 6 in R1...dont try it. I would say 4 would be max and thats if you select four schools with a spread of due dates.

Thanks River.
For choosing Duke over Ross, my thought was the image of Duke in South, and having lived in South carolina for 5 years and visited North carolina many times, I don't want to leave this area and Duke for Ross.

I agree with you on replacing Yale with Tuck, actually Tuck never came to my mind. Since I haven't done much towards applying to Yale, I can make this switch.

I should have mentioned to you before that I had Praet change my id to this. You already suggested MMM to me and I am learning about MMM. My top priority is still Kellogg or Chicago. In fact, unless there is something urgent at work, I plan to visit Chicago this coming Friday, when I will visit Kellogg (Class visit, info session and student lunch) and join Chicago GSB student hosted event.

As of EMBA, I have done research about Duke EMBA and talked to admission people as well as students. It seems EMBA is a not a good option if your job already includes late night and weekend work. Even otherwise, EMBA takes away almost all of the personal time. I need plenty of time for kids and do not want to compromise with raising them well.

good profile, but like others said, the Indian IT part will be your biggest obstacle. From the looks of it, you have some good experiences to talk about and set you apart from the other Indian ITs. TAlk about leadership, volunteering, and ECs in your essays. Make it personal and show off who you are beyond your stats.

I would also suggest Ross over Duke. From a friend who applied and will be attending Ross, he liked it a lot for the operations/supply chain side of things (along with MIT and Kellogg). Not sure if Yale is a good choice, Tuck or MIT would be better for Opersations/SCM.

Let me know if you're visiting Haas this fall, I can probably meet up if the schedules work out. :)
