That all sounds terrific. It's important that your application and, specifically, your essays sufficiently cover your professional experiences and academic pedigree as well as tell your reasons for getting an MIF. How you introduce career goal of going to IB will also be relevant.

Again, please reach out if we can be of more help.

Hello everybody,

My name is Victor and i am French. I want to work in IB and I would like to know if i could join a Top tier Msc Finance in Europe with my profile:

- currently in my last year at ESCE International business School (Finance Master Degree), a low-mid tier business school in France.
- Working on my gmat --> aiming for 680-700
- going to work as a financial controller intern in a CAC 40 company (from January to June 2021)
- 6 months internship in the Real estate industry in London + I did an international market study for a company called clim8
- made 2 programs exchange (one in spain, one in argentina)
- I can speak english, spanish and obviously french.

I would really appreciate your help! Thank you! :please: :please: :please:

Hey victordugua,

To begin with, your undergraduate degree being in the field of finance adds significant weight to your profile, since MSc Finance is a specialized masters program and most schools prefer applicants with a relevant academic background or work experience in the field of finance. Your academic background coupled with your nationality and pragmatic international exposure through the dual exchange programs in Spain and Argentina will further add value to your profile as most schools are looking to add diversity to their cohort.

Moving on, a GMAT score of 680 to 700 will be pretty competitive and would allow you to target most top B-schools in Europe. However, be mindful about the fact that a 49+ in the Quants section is what would strengthen your pitch for an MSc Finance.

Since you haven’t provided any information regarding your extracurriculars, I would like to tell you that your extracurricular activities and your other endeavors matter as well because AdComs are looking for applicants with holistically developed profiles. Thus, it is essential to shed light on the endeavors you’ve taken up at the clubs, associations, fest, and events you managed or participated in during your undergrad.

Coming to your work experience, you will need to highlight the major projects that you undertook and the relevant set of proficiencies that this experience helped you develop. Since for specialized programs like MSc Finance a relevant experience in the field of finance is required, therefore your professional experience being in the field will add value to your profile and thus differentiate you from the cohort. Moreover, you will be competing against other applicants with extensive work experience hailing from the big four firms, therefore you will need to have strong brands present in your CV. Since it seems to be missing from your profile, you will need to highlight why you chose these firms, how you have gone beyond the role, any initiatives you took, and any kind of impact created to showcase a strong profile.

That said, the schools that you can be targeting in Europe for an MSc in Finance are - ESSEC, ESCP, EDHEC, FSFM, HEC, Manheim, and Bocconi.

On this note, while you have a competitive profile, to increase your chances of getting admitted to these schools you would need to ensure that you have a very strong application (consisting of - Essays, LORs, and Resume) that highlights your strengths and overshadows your weaknesses in order to differentiate your profile. You need to showcase your journey, what makes you different from your peers, and how you are a great value addition to the school.

Thus, if you are looking to target the top B-schools and want to craft a winning application that would increase your chances by at least 3 times, you can check our comprehensive all-in-one solution that has helped thousands of applicants get into their dream schools worldwide.
