Hi RobertStephen8291,
You have some impressive aspects to your background. Your work experience is solid and having 8 direct reports will definitely differentiate you from many applicants who are at lower levels in their organizations, and without people management experience. A perfect GRE score is definitely impressive and will compensate for your GPA which is on the lower side. That said, you are coming from a very competitive demographic as an Indian male engineer.
Your extensive work experience (~10 years by the time you start school) is double the average for students at Stanford and UCLA. This combined with your long term goal to work as a Product Manager in Tech may raise concerns among the adcom as to why you NEED the MBA. Based on your current experience you can probably transition into a Product Manager role without an MBA. The adcom wants to give the spot to a student who really NEEDS the MBA to achieve his long term goals. Furthermore, they may feel that you would be better suited in an Executive MBA program, where you may learn more from peers at a comparable level in their careers as you. Whatever your reasons for wanting to attend a full time program, you will need to make the case that you NEED the education in order to achieve your long term goals, and WHY a full time program is the better fit for you than an executive program.
As for your chances at Stanford and UCLA, we will need more details about your leadership achievements, professional accomplishments, why you have chosen your long term goal, etc. to be better able to assess your candidacy. I encourage you to reach out to us for a free consultation where we will be able to better evaluate your chances with more information.
