Hi @
Pran111,
Thanks for reaching out to us at
mbaMission.
You've got a great foundation from your engineering studies / GPA. With four years of consulting experience, you're at a good point in your career to apply to MBA programs. The multiple promotions will look great! The benefit of a startup is that you likely get to wear many different hats, earlier leadership opportunities, and more exposure to senior clients and partners. The downside is that it lacks that prestige factor when comparing your profile to consultants from MBB firms, for example. So think about how you can differentiate your entrepreneurial experience. (It sounds like you can with marketing, mentorship, etc.).
The main concern in your profile is the 3 year gap. You will for sure need to present that factually in an optional essay and explain what you did and learned during that time. A high GRE score and stellar recommendation letters would help mitigate this gap to some extent. Adding some extracurricular leadership could help too, or advancing your startup venture as you mentioned.
With that in mind, I think some T10 schools are possible but they will be challenging with that gap.
Hope that helps some!
Kate
