X and XII with 89 %
Working with a Germany based MNC - a market leader in ERP solutions - in the role of a Techno Functional consultant cum developer in the area of Indian Excise and Taxation. My role involves working in close co-ordination with clients ( giants in the country ) and other stake holders to understand the user's business and help customize the ERP software tailored to his specific requirements. The work my team does impacts their businesses considerably in terms of efficiency as well as innovation. I am happy with the fact that the work that I do has helped businesses run better and that I make significant contribution to the same.
I wish to pursue MBA to further delve deep into understanding and acquiring the business know-how of things. I am particularly keen on following the path of product management / consultant role post MBA.
Apart from work, I was additionally a part of fellowship program in my office to brainstorm and build a new product from scratch, which got a very positive response and now is being converted into a full product to release in the market. My significant contribution, apart from the designing of the prototype was to train and ramp up my colleagues functionally. Have been involved in the various social as well as cultural events at office level as an organizer and a participant.
In college, I was selected in the Editorial Board in a team of 20 from 400 participants. As a senior english editor I was instrumental in releasing the annual college magazine ( including the 50th year Golden Jubilee special edition ) and conducted an inter-college mock- parliament at the city level. I was also heading the marketing team for the college fest, responsible for actuating sponsorship for the 3 day event.
I took the GMAT last week and scored 720 ( Q 50 V38 IR 6 AWA 6 )
I have chosen the following as a mix of ambitious + achievable during the test :
Said School, London
Mc Combs
Darden
CMU Teppers
Emory Goizueta
Additionally I will be applying to ISB ( round 2 since I'm already late for round 1 ) , NUS and NTU .
Will appreciate any kind of suggestions / feedback / advice.
Thanks a lot!
Hey,
So I think you have a pretty good profile! You have an excellent GPA from an excellent school with an excellent GMAT!
And that is the basis for all sorts of goodness.
I like your school list. It's very balanced and fair. I think you could even ADD one or two DREAM schools from the Top 10 to your list if you so desired. Yep, it's more work and more applications, but since everything is in order you should have a shot. Oh, yeah, plus you are female! That helps too. And I think that at some schools on your list (like Emory, McCombs) you should even have a shot at getting some scholarship offer.
Hope you like the good news,
Best!
Jon
