A high GMAT score of 675 effectively caters for a GPA below 3-3.5. You may career achievements when you apply. All the Best.

Thanks for the detailed profile — here is our feedback

Your 2.72 GPA is the biggest challenge, but not an automatic disqualifier if reasoned well. Your GMAT at 675 is doing some work, but a retake targeting 700+ would meaningfully improve your odds at HEC and INSEAD. Your 3.5 years in credit analysis is genuinely relevant, especially for MiF programs, and at 26 you're perfectly within the target age range — don't worry about that at all. One missing information is your international exposure/exprience, as INSEAD, HEC, ESSEC give significant weightage to international exposure.

For school fit, I'd position HEC MiF and ESSEC MiF as your targets, INSEAD MBA and HEC MBA as reaches, and add one or two safer options like Frankfurt School MiF or Bocconi MSc Finance to balance your list. For January 2027, you're not late, but apply in Round 1 to stay competitive for scholarships — that window starts mid-2026.

Address the health gap briefly and factually, AdComs are understanding as long as you don't over-explain.

The mixed feedback you've gotten from consultants reflects that this genuinely is a borderline profile — the difference between an admit and a reject at this level comes down almost entirely to how your story is packaged. That's where having the right strategy matters most.

We recommend booking a free profile evaluation with the Admit Expert team at admitexpert.com — we can build a focused school list, craft your narrative around the GPA and gap, and set a realistic roadmap for 2027 intake. Happy to help you put your best foot forward.

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate an honest and realistic profile evaluation for MBA/MiF programs.

Background:
- Education: B.A. (Hons) Economics (3-year program), graduated in 2022 in India
- GPA: 2.72/4 (lower primarily due to COVID period disruptions)

Test Scores:
- GMAT: 675 (Q86, V85, DI80)

Work Experience:
- ~3.5 years as a Credit Analyst
- Worked on credit analysis projects with large financial institutions through my current firm

Additional Context:
- 10-month gap in my profile due to health issues

Post-MBA Goals:
- Finance/ strategy roles target towards Venture Capital(still refining between MBA vs MiF depending on fit)

Target Schools:
- HEC Paris (MiF/MBA)
- INSEAD (MBA)
- ESSEC Business School (MiF)

Main Questions:
1. Given my low GPA, do I have a realistic shot at HEC, or would it be too ambitious even with a 675 GMAT?
2. For January 2027 intake, would I still be competitive for scholarships if I apply, or am I already late in the cycle?
3. Any suggestions on school selection (reach/target/safe) based on my profile?
4. Can I still apply for MIF programmes or am I too old for it? (i'll be turning 26 soon.)

I’ve spoken to a few consultants and received mixed feedback—some say HEC is possible, while others have ruled it out entirely. I’m trying to get a more grounded perspective from this community.

Thanks in advance for your help!
