Hi
AusMBA10,
First, you have a great profile. You have excellent academic stats (GMAT and GPA, which you don't need to convert but that is helpful). You have strong internships and can demonstrate your interest in switching to the business/startup space through your recent internship. And you have great campus leadership roles with wide impact and even some global exposure. You also fit the desired profile well of these deferred programs as they were designed to draw STEM majors and other less typical backgrounds into the MBA pool. Plus, applicants from Australia are not heavily represented, so that should give you some edge. With all that in mind, these deferred programs are super selective, but I do think you have a highly competitive profile.
Regarding schools, I think you've got a great list of programs. The only potential addition is MIT Sloan. Although MIT is typically known for engineering which you are trying to steer away from, MIT Sloan has a thriving startup community and resources that you might like.
Lastly, you should check out our guide to deferred programs:

Best,

Hi,
I was wanting to apply for a few of the deferred programs given I am completing my final year of university.
Background
Australian Male (22)
GMAT: 760 (Q49/V45)
Undergrad GPA: 6.0/7.0 (Tier 1 university in Australia, equiv. 3.7/4.0)
Major: Engineering
Additional: First generation university student
Extra Curricular's
- CEO of global student society, approx 7000 members at nearly 200 universities. Have been a part of club for 5 years from local uni up to CEO globally
- Chairperson of university student union. Managed $8m AUM in support for 50,000+ students and chaired the board of directors.
Internships
- Currently working as a strategy/operations associate for high growth start up, supporting on Series A funding and a number of strategic initiatives. Start up is in consumer goods which I am interested to stay in
- 2 Engineering internships at prestigious employers, both globally recognised as Tier 1.
Reasons for deferred MBA and Post-MBA goals
- I have moved away from my interest in engineering due to exposure at my start up, and gaining ability both as CEO of my organisation and in this role I really want to extend my entrepreneurial passion into creating my own start up that aims to solve global problems I have learned so much about in both roles.
- I want to use the MBA to build a solid background to equip me with the skills to undertake this and eventually found my own company.
Programs I'm considering: Harvard 2+2, Stanford, Wharton Moelis, Columbia Deferred MBA, Chicago Booth Scholars, Kellogg Deferred MBA, Yale Silver Scholars, Darden Future Year. Are there any other programs that I should consider given my background and interests?
