Hi,
I was wanting to apply for a few of the deferred programs given I am completing my final year of university.
Background
Australian Male (22)
GMAT: 760 (Q49/V45)
Undergrad GPA: 6.0/7.0 (Tier 1 university in Australia, equiv. 3.7/4.0)
Major: Engineering
Additional: First generation university student
Extra Curricular's
- CEO of global student society, approx 7000 members at nearly 200 universities. Have been a part of club for 5 years from local uni up to CEO globally
- Chairperson of university student union. Managed $8m AUM in support for 50,000+ students and chaired the board of directors.
Internships
- Currently working as a strategy/operations associate for high growth start up, supporting on Series A funding and a number of strategic initiatives. Start up is in consumer goods which I am interested to stay in
- 2 Engineering internships at prestigious employers, both globally recognised as Tier 1.
Reasons for deferred MBA and Post-MBA goals
- I have moved away from my interest in engineering due to exposure at my start up, and gaining ability both as CEO of my organisation and in this role I really want to extend my entrepreneurial passion into creating my own start up that aims to solve global problems I have learned so much about in both roles.
- I want to use the MBA to build a solid background to equip me with the skills to undertake this and eventually found my own company.
Programs I'm considering: Harvard 2+2, Stanford, Wharton Moelis, Columbia Deferred MBA, Chicago Booth Scholars, Kellogg Deferred MBA, Yale Silver Scholars, Darden Future Year. Are there any other programs that I should consider given my background and interests?
