Hey
Palakbothra,
If you want to get into the profiles like Brand Managers, Client Servicing, Marketing Analyst etc then Msc marketing can be a good fit for your career. Whether you want to venture into the marketing domain from a different sector or want to further your marketing career, an MSc in marketing is the one-stop solution for you.
Although, MSc Strategic Marketing is not a highly quantitative program and is open to graduates from a variety of disciplines but candidates are expected to be familiar with a basic knowledge of maths before the start of the program.
Talking About the profile, I would say that you have a pretty decent profile. You have done a pretty good job with your Internships, Scholarships and your GPA is pretty decent as well.
Work ex looks decent as well, however, your competition might have the advantage of a brand name on their resume. To compensate for it, brainstorm and highlight any quantitative achievements during your work ex.
Other than that Having a GMAT score 700+ would work in your favour.
A few more pointers while finalizing your schools:
Tier 1 Schools like HEC, ESADE, Imperial etc requires a First or Upper Second Class Honours undergraduate degree from a recognized university (or international equivalent) in a discipline such as Business Management, Marketing, Economics. Please note that schools like HEC or ESADE having a degree from distance learning can be an issue, yet you can try to compensate with your other profile strengths or a with a solid reason for the same.
If you are planning on targeting the top 10 Schools for Msc Marketing in Europe, do keep in mind that these schools receive a huge volume of applications from the Indian students, so you will have to make an effort to differentiate yourself from the typical Marketing profile.
The extracurriculars that you have mentioned are decent but I would suggest taking up a community development project as well as it can turn out to be your highlight. Schools highly value social volunteering initiatives.
To summarize, HEC, Imperial College of Business School can be termed as dream schools,
Warwick, EDHEC and Vlerik Business School can be considered as Competitive schools
Whereas the Cranfield School of Management and the University of Edinburgh Business School can be considered to be safe schools.
I would be able to help you out even in a better way if I receive more details about your profile. Alternatively, to get a deeper insight into your profile and your selection chances at your target schools, you can check out this free profile evaluation tool:
