Hi
ManikG hope this finds you well
I would recommend that you do your own research on the schools that fit with your objectives.
Here, I am going to talk about top B-schools with a focus on consulting and/or healthcare/pharma.
If you are open to exploring options in the US and not limited to a specific location, you should consider Kellogg's one-year MBA program, Columbia's J-Term, and MIT Sloan Fellows program. Additionally, I suggest setting up exploratory calls with Tuck and Duke MBA admissions offices to express your interest and see if they can accommodate experienced candidates from the pharma sector that demonstrate a good fit for their programs. These schools have a strong focus on healthcare/pharma and are consulting powerhouses. Although the average age for the MBA cohort is much lower, the range spans between 24 to 38 years. Request the schools to connect you with alumni with similar background who too were on the higher end of the age spectrum so you can learn more about their experiences and what the schools can offer. Networking is key at this point.
If you are considering schools in the EU-UK, think of INSEAD, IMD, Oxford, Cambridge and LBS. However an executive MBA program might be more suitable for you given your age and seniority as the GM of a pharma research company. But with 9 years of experience, which is relatively less for an executive MBA student at top one-year MBA programs like INSEAD, I highly recommend reaching out directly to the admissions offices. It is common to see 34-35 year olds in INSEAD's full-time MBA cohorts, but the adcom will have higher standards for evaluating older applicants. Evaluate each school holistically based on your prior expertise in the industry.
Setting up calls with the INSEAD office will allow you to discuss your profile and get firsthand feedback. If you prefer the one-year full-time MBA, focus on explaining why it's your preferred choice, such as the immersive experience, career opportunities, and career treks.
If you are interested in INSEAD's Global Executive MBA Program (GEMBA), you can find more information at this link:
https://www.insead.edu/master-programme ... admissions. It could be a great fit for you, as you would join a cohort of mid-senior to senior level managers from global multinational corporations. You can also request INSEAD to connect you with alumni who have gone through similar career transitions. This way, you can seek honest advice and gain insights into the ROI of these programs for senior professionals.
As a side note, if you prefer a full-time MBA experience without the uncertainty of getting into a top B-school outside India as an older applicant, IIM Ahmedabad's one-year MBA (PGPX) program could be a great fit. With the right networking and the prestigious IIM brand, you can still achieve your desired role in consulting and geographic location.
Your academics are alright and you can explain the general evaluation trends during MBBS exams. Your GMAT is good especially your quant score.
Feel free to reach out should you want to speak.
