Being first generation female from your family is a big boost. Just be authentic in your essays.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will keep it in mind.
Possibly will re-take the GMAT.
I will focus in re-working my goals. Honestly, I have worked with 2 startups from the US before ( internship and current WEx ) but I wish to relocate the US or Europe and work closely with the leadership there rather than being the 2nd citizen in the company due to my location in India and the time zone differences. Not quite sure how to spin this for the colleges though.

Hi,

Missed answering earlier, so I hope you are still following this thread.
If you are just looking at a location change to work with the leadership team in the startups where you are working, then it will not be a convincing reason for doing an MBA at all. You can probably work out a transfer within your company.

The need for an MBA should be linked to a skill gap that you need to overcome in order to achieve your career goals.

Do keep in mind that your career goals should warrant an MBA. At this point in time, startups are not having it too great. Funding has dried up and there may not be a visa sponsor for you at the end of MBA- so keep the market scenario in mind while framing your goals.
I'd be happy to have a discussion with you and help bring more clarity to this. you can contact me at contact@mbadecoder.com
