Hi

Please evaluate my profile for ISB 2016-17 intake

GMAT 670
10th - 87 %
12th 97 %
B.E mechanical from BITS,Pilani (6.9 CGPA)

Work Exp: 7 Years in Supply chain consulting
JDA/I2 technologies -4.5 yrs
Business consultant-Responsible for implementing supply chain solutions using JDA propriety products such as Demand planning/Fulfillment planning etc
Capgemini - 1 Yr
Senior consultant- Worked as a offshore point of contact responsible for creating functional specifications based on Business requirements

Accenture(Current) 1.5 yrs
Team Lead - Leading a team for providing support for a replenishment planning solution for Pharma giant

Have travelled to US on three separate assignments(short term 2.5 months/trip)
Have got Team milestone award for a project with JDA and Good Samaritan award with Accenture.

Extra curricular
Working with NGO called Bhumi where i teach English to underprivileged kids during weekends
Was part of toastmasters club in Chennai- have won 3 best speaker awards
Alumni coordinator for my high school where we collect funds that provide scholarship for deserving students
Drawing-pencil shading/dry pastels
Avid follower of sports.

Post MBA goal
Demand planner/Supply chain manager at reputed organizations or Operations&strategy consulting

Hi Prakash,

The area where you need to work to make your profile stronger for ISB is the GMAT. Retake the GMAT with an aim to score 700+. You have an average GPA and a low GMAT score - both compound the perception about the low academic performance. Since the GPA is no longer in your control, improve the area that is still in your hands- the GMAT.

Other than that you have a good chance at ISB. I would like to know more about your career goals- do you need an MBA to get to them? They don't sound very different
from what you are doing already. Now, if this is actually the case, it could spell trouble for your application as the purpose of doing an MBA is that you are able to jump a few notches up in your career, which will [/u]not happen too soon[u] if you have not got your MBA.

In your current role as a supply chain consultant, the primary skill you bring to the table is your expertise of the supply chain technology product. You apply your expertise of the product features and configure it, implement it or customize it for your client.

In your post MBA role, be it as a management consultant or as as a supply chain executive within an organization, your primary expertise will become broader and more business oriented, for example, about the supply chain processes, enabling technologies, other partners and vendors. Your responsibility will also get defined in terms of business outcomes such as process cycle time. Hope this explains.

As I mentioned earlier, post MBA opportunities in the supply chain are available both in management consulting as well as within companies where supply chain is critical. e-commerce and retail are good examples.
