If you have two years to work with, you need to focus on the following:
(1) Gaining solid work experience
(2) Doing well on the GMAT/GRE
(3) Building strong extracurricular/community leadership outside of work
(4) Engaging with schools of interest to show your enthusiasm and to build an understanding of their programs
When you turn towards applications you should:
(1) Pick schools that might not be so highly ranked to improve your odds
(2) Write terrific, well articulated essays
(3) Secure good letters of recommendation from supervisors, managers, etc.
If you are interested in getting our help, I encourage you to look into our Advanced Planning Program. This is a program designed to coach people on how to improve their profiles well in advance of their time to apply.
