Hi community! I'd appreciate your input and advice. I am not sure whether to apply this wave or which schools I have a realistic shot at. I am an American-born white male (age 27). I graduated from a top 30 public school (one of UVA, Mighigan, UNC, UT Austin, UCLA, UC Berkeley). After graduating I did marketing for one year at a small design company and have since been in sales and business development at a well-known non-FAANG tech company (think IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Adobe). I would like to transition to consulting.
I was involved in some student tech roles at university and did a study abroad semester in Paris. I didn't have a stellar undergraduate GPA (3.2) and my GMAT is 700 q46v40 but I only took it once. I am not sure where my target range is for schools and if I should apply round 1 or try to take the GMAT again to score higher. My practice scores hovered around 690-710, so I don't know if I can realistically get 720+ in the next couple weeks.
What schools are in my range to apply for? Do I have a realistic shot at a top 25 or top 15 program? My dream would be UVA or Berkeley level MBA program. Would you recommend getting into the 720+ range before applying or should I work on making a very good application for round 1?
