I am applying for entry Fall 2015.
Could I please ask for a profile evaluation? Post MBA-goals are to enter marketing in the NYC or southeast (Atlanta).
I am applying R1 to Fuqua, Darden, Ross, Columbia (NY connection), Tuck, and Kellogg. What are my chances? Thank you in advance for your evaluation.
Academics:
Graduated from Georgia Tech in 2010. Due to international baccalaureate credits/proficiency exam, I accrued enough credits to finish the Mechanical Engineering major in 3 years (is this a plus?)
My GPA was 3.28. If all goes as planned - I will be 26 when I matriculate into the Fall 15 term.
GMAT: 710 (49 q, 37 v)
Career:
Upon finishing college, I figured I had one year to figure out what I wanted to do, so I stayed at GT to do research in mechanical engineering.
Then I spent 1 yr at a internet startup, 2 years at an niche mechanical engineering consulting firm, and 1+ years now at another small engineering consultancy (more IT).
I was unemployed for two months (layoff at the 1st mechanical engineering firm due to downsizing) - Atlanta area.
Extracurriculars
I volunteer as a tutor for kids from low-income families (done this for 1 year to date) and I am part of a Big Brother/Big Sister program (separate institution) helping the same demographic of kids pursue goals and stay on the right path to success (1 year to date as well).
Hello there,
Well your GMAT is very good… your GPA is so-so, and your experience is ????
It's hard to say without seeing a detailed explanation of your roles, achievements and leadership. Important for you specifically will be that you show some sort of logical progress from one role to the next. Right now it feels to me like a "Series of jobs", but of course we want to build a narrative with you in which each job will be taking you further - one step closer to your goals.
If you elaborate a biiit more about your job and anything else that might be relevant, I may be able to advise you further,
Best,
JF
