Helloo,

I am going to apply mid ranked business schools full time MBA programs in United States. (below top 50 B-schools) Here is my profile:

Age: 22
Undergraduate Degree: CGPA 2.40 (but one of the best and hardest electrical engineering department and university in Turkey)
IELTS: 7 (which is OK for mid-ranked schools)
Work Experience: 1 Year (including full time summer internships and family business)
GMAT: 580 (Q49 V20) (However, I am going to take once again in 13th of December)
Recommendation Letters: From two professors in my school, whom earned their degrees from top US schools

I know my profile is not so strong, so my target is mid ranked schools they are:
(Also, those are the ones that did NOT make work experience as a must)
1-Syracuse University
2-Northeastern University
3-UC Riverside
4-California State University Long Beach
5-Stony Brook University
6-University of Miami
7-Case Western Reserve
8-San Diego State University

Can you please evaluate my profile for those schools?

Also a last thing :-) , for those schools above did my profile can be enough or from the upcoming GMAT what score should I get for strenghten my profile.
Can you please tell your ideas school by school like: 1-approx. 650 2-now can be also ok 3-dream  and so on...

I am very eager to go to an MBA program in this age and I will issue it in my purpose of statement essays too.
I will be very very happy for any comments ideas and advices :-)

Have a good day....

Hello ys933!

I am glad you've found some schools where work experience is not a must, as you are definitely on the younger side of most applicants! One question on your recommendation letters -- is it possible to get one academic letter and one professional one (like from a supervisor of an internship?). Most schools like to see professional letters, though I understand in your case why that might be difficult to do, especially with the family business involvement.

As for your schools, I think the first two may be more stretches -- Syracuse recommends a minimum of 600 GMAT and Northeastern also has a 600+ average. But the others seem like reasonable targets.

Given your lower GPA, I do think giving the GMAT test one more shot is a great idea, to try to cross that 600 mark and also to get that verbal score up. Your quant is excellent!

Make sure you articulate your passion for doing your MBA now in your essays, and also communicate a clear / specific picture of your intended career path.

Best of luck!
Kate
