Hi all,

I am planning to apply for Fall 2014 for MS in HRM.
I passed out in 2011 after having completed my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and worked in IT for one n half years under the Manufacturing wing.
My field of interest being Human Resources Management, I quit my job to go in for an internship in HR.
So I am currently into my 7th month as an intern at a prestigious Government of India enterprise.
Working on a research project currently in my field of interest.

Please find below my profile:

UG agg: 85.6% (topper's percentage 87%) from CIET now a university but then affiliated to Punjab Technical University.
GRE : 327 (Q-168, V-159, analytical- 4.0)
TOEFL: 114

Publications:
Have a publication in Institution of Engineers' India Electrical Engineering Divisional Journal, published in 2011(should help in indicating my inclination for research from the beginning)

Other achievements:
ISTE Best Student Award for Year 2010.

Industrial Training at Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL, Ramgarh), a lab of
DRDO (Jan-May,2011)

Invited by the Hon’ble CM of Gujarat to Vibrant Gujarat 2011 (5th Global Summit) on being
shortlisted as one of the 20 Best Business Proposals of the Region.

Felicitated by Institution of Engineers’, India (IEI), Punjab and Chandigarh State Centre on 43rd
Engineers’ Day (15th Sept., 2010)

Member of Toastmasters International,SHRM India

Participated and won in various inter-college fests,Organized various college events,Executive member of various Student Chapter bodies in College.

List of Universities m thinking of applying to:

1. MS in HR&ER at Pennsylvania State University
2. MS in HRM at Purdue University
3. MS in HRM at Texas A&M UNiversity
Also
4. MILR at Cornell University (seems very very ambitious though)
5. MLRHR at Michigan State University
6. MHRM at Rutgers(State University of New Jersey)
7. MHRIR at Univrsity of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
8. MA in HRIR at University of Minnesota
9. Ohio State University

Anybody out there who can help evaluate my profile with a similar career track.
How disadvantageous can be my shift from a technical to a career in HR altho applicants to these courses are from diverse disciplines?

Thanks
