Hi experts,
Kindly evaluate my profile and let me know where I stand & how much should I improve.
Target Schools-->ISB, NUS Singapore, Nanyang Singapore, Wharton, Yale. I want to target some higher ranked schools as well, but I doubt my profile.
Work Ex-->4 yrs 9 months. Leading Indian IT company, working for a large US based banking client for the last 3 yrs.
International Experience-->11 months(running) in Mexico. Little knowledge of Spanish.
Educational qualification-->10th(81%), 12th(71.8%), B.Tech(Electronics & Communication Engg- 71.33%)
GMAT score-->1st attempt(29 Oct'12)--640(Q-49,V-27,AWA-4,IR-6), 2nd attempt(29 July'13)--650(Q-49, V-31). Planning to retake as I feel these scores along with my profile are not good enough to fetch me calls from my target schools.
Achievements-->(1) Topped the school in class 10th and received 100% scholarship for class 11th.
(2) Topped the school in class 11th and received 100% scholarship for class 12th.
(3) Topped the school in class 12th.
(4) Branch topper in B.Tech 1st year and 3rd topper among all the branches in B.Tech 1st year. Received merit certificate and scholarship for the same.
(5) Declared Winner of the placement drive(Eloquence) conducted by the Electrogenesis club of the college in the year 2007.
(6) Received Insta Award for outstanding performance in the current job.
Extracurricular Activities-->(1) School Captain during the period 2002-03.
(2) Represented my school in interschool debate competition in 2002 and 2003.
(3) Represented my unit in the inter unit song fest for 2 consecutive times in 2009 and 2010. Participated in Duet and group song category both the times. Declared runner-up as a team in 2009.
(4) Represented my unit in the inter unit Badminton tournament in the year 2010.
(5) Mentoring a team of newly joined members in the current job.
(6) Leading the projects to successful completion from the company's Mexico based office.
(7) Sponsored a child's 1 year education in the year 2012.

Thanks for posting. I agree, trying the GMAT once more might be worth it, as currently it would be challenging to gain acceptance to your target schools. You are also part of a common applicant profile-- Indian IT applicants, who score quite strongly on the GMAT. You'll need to do all that you can to stand out from that group, particularly in the application essays. For the GMAT, if you haven't yet, consider a preparation program, whether live or online etc, to really push for that next level of scores. Wharton and Yale may be pretty challenging even with a high score, fyi, just being realistic. But of course if your heart is set on a particular school and you have the time to apply you can always try. Certainly getting feedback on your essays from an MBA admissions consultant or at least a friend/colleague who knows b-schools well would help!!

By the way, I did Princeton Review course for the first GMAT attempt, and Manhattan test series for the second GMAT attempt. Looking for more options this time.
