Hi, this is my first post here, looking forward to joining the forum. I'd love to get some feedback on my profile. I'm using the reddit/MBA template.
Thanks a lot!
BACKGROUNDWork experience:- 2019-ongoing: financial data analyst for global analytics firm in New York (think MSCI, S&P Global, IHS).
- 2015-2017 (2 years): investment banking analyst (M&A) at a leading northern Europe boutique firm.
Extracurriculars:- Volunteer, data science-oriented, work for a non-profit within the neurodiversity field
- Gymnastics at national level (might not be applicable as I was very young at the time)
Undergrad school/major:Global top 100 university in Northern Europe: major in financial economics
Other education/coursework:Master of Science (M.Sc.) in data analytics from a university in NYC.
Race/nationality: White / Northern Europe
Sex: Male
Stats:GMAT Score (include breakdown!): I took the GRE as I did way better in practice tests. I've reached out to the B-schools of my interest regarding standardized test preferences, and they all stated that they're completely indifferent towards the GMAT and GRE.
GRE: 164Q, 158V = 322
Undergrad GPA: 2.75 (this is clearly my weak spot)
Master's GPA: 4.00
MBA INFOGoal of MBA:I enjoy my current position as a financial data analyst, but I'm devoted to pursuing an MBA, hence I will apply for a part-time program.
- Short-term goal of MBA (1-5 years): To excel in my current role, e.g. by being able to directly apply and leverage the skills gained from the part-time MBA in my day to day work life.
- Long-term goal of MBA (5+ years): Build a stronger foundation by further improving my financial knowledge and extending my professional network. I look to start my own venture within the data/finance-field in a couple of years and I hope to find business partners and, ideally, potential future co-founders with a background in the engineering fields.
Target schools:NYU Stern part-time MBA (really the only one in my target scope, given that I want to continue work in NYC during the MBA).
