I would like a profile evaluation please. At this stage I am not sure as to which schools are best for me and which of them are realistically feasible for me. I am from India and have done Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. I have a relatively low GPA of 7.4/10. My GMAT score is 720. I have been working as a field engineer for Schlumberger, which means working offshore in the middle of the sea for about 4-5weeks straight before getting some days of rest. I do have plenty of extra curricular activities from my college days. I was the captain of our Basketball team in college and also the festival coordinator of our Sports Festival.
ME: 26, Male, Indian
1) Brief description of your full-time work experience.
-4+ Years: '07-'10: Field Engineer for Schlumberger, drilling oil wells in the south China sea.
- First Promotion in June, 08 - I was the first among all the trainees in China to get promoted and begin leading Drilling Operations offshore.
- Temporarily Assigned as Service Quality manager in '10 after an Audit of our base. Our Previous SQM quit just before the Audit. Was the only G10 Field Engineer to have ever been made so in China. Responsible for Improving the service Quality of the base. Stopped going offshore in these months. Helped Improve our base from a Level 5 category to Level 3.
- After finishing my stint as SQM I was asked to sit in the base as EIC ( post to help out my manager, dealing with the other field enigneers responsible for thier embarking of disembarking from the rigs, checking availability of tools. ) . I used to sit in for my manager and deal with the IOC ( international Oil Companies ) in his absence.
- Transferred to Brazil in later part of '10 as a G10 Field Engineer - I personally requested for this transfer as by girl friend was posted in Brazil and the thought of working in another continent excited me. Resumed going offshore, leading the deepwater operations in Brazil on rigs costing more $1M+ a day.
- In '09 and '10 performance appraisal I was given "A" ( Once each by the Management team in China and the Management Team in Brazil ) which is given to the top 5% engineers in the base.
