Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping to get a profile evaluation. Here's my story.
I'm currently finishing my Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering at USC. I recently took the GMAT and I would like to go back to business school in 4 to 5 years. I also have an undergraduate degree in Biomedical/Biochemical Engineering from USC. Here are my stats:
Age: 23
Ethnicity: Asian
Work Experience: none at the moment, but upon graduation I will start a full-time position as a Logistics Analyst at Nestle USA, so by the time I plan to apply for business school I will have 4 to 5 years work experience
GMAT: 690 (35V, 49Q)
Grad School GPA: 3.51 (USC - Viterbi School of Engineering)
Undergrad GPA: 2.82 (USC - Viterbi School of Engineering)
ECs: 5 years in Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity - 2 years as Business Manager/Treasurer, 1 semester as recruitment chair, 1.5 years as alumni rep, 1 semester as professional chair
Negatives: No work experience as of yet, and somewhat low undergraduate GPA
Schools applying to: HBS, UCLA, USC, Wharton, Berkeley, and more (I'm still deciding/open to suggestions)
Tentative post-MBA career plans: I would like to pursue a career in IT/IS consulting or operations consulting.
Also, should I try to aim for a higher GMAT score? I have quite a bit of time from now until I apply to consider this but I've been told a 690 is statistically the same as a 720 and only a score of 760 or higher would be a significant gain.
Thanks for your responses!
