Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a 24 year old IT professional from India and i am looking at admissions into these below schools.
Please advice your view based on my profile details listed below.
1. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
2. Penn state university
3. University of Rochester ( William.E.Simon school of business )
4. University of Texas at Dallas
5. Rice University
6. Iowa state university
7. Michigan state university ( Broad college of business )
8. Kelley school of business
My credentials :
GMAT - 660 ( Q-50, V-29, IR-8, AWA-5)
GPA - 3.3 ( 82.5 % in Bachelors of engineering, Electronics and communication )
Work experience - 38 months in program management in a IT firm ( Excela com technologies )
Summary of my work profile
• Developed roadmaps, time-tables and status reports; identified and assessed project risks, built and tracked their mitigation/contingency plans; represented the development center in India for Project Comcast and functioned as a single point of contact on the Change Request Review Board.
• Handled the delivery of the project of so big a magnitude that involved 9 cross functional, inter dependent teams
• Awarded the rising star in the organization for establishing and maintaining Resource skill matrix which served as a repository for all levels of management in decision making
• Managed a team which was tracking the resource activities and served as an advisor in On-boarding and Off-boarding of resources based on the project priorities and severities

Hi there,
Thanks for posting. Your school list sounds reasonably appropriate given where you are at, though it's quite long so you may wish to narrow it down some! But keep in mind there are a LOT of similar Indian IT applicants, so it can be quite competitive and you'll need to work hard to differentiate yourself from the crowd.
Dig deep and brainstorm on what makes YOU unique... b-school admissions decisions are made holistically... it's not just based on grades or facts or stats, but on a holistic picture of the applicant and what they'll contribute to the program, who they are as a person. That is primarily evidenced through your ESSAYS, fyi!! (And interview if you get to that point.) Elements you need to convey in your application for best chances include:
-what past experiences and skills will benefit you in the classroom, and later in your career
-what key traits and experiences make you UNIQUE; basically, 'why YOU??' vs other applicants
-why you want the MBA, with clear short term and long term post-MBA goals
-why NOW
-why that specific school is right for you
If you lack any of the above components, you risk that another well or similarly-qualified applicant who includes all of those, will wind up getting accepted over you!
