You're absolutely right in that European schools tend to skew the average age higher than their counterparts in the states. I went ahead and assumed that you're more leaning towards the states because only 1 out of the 4 schools you listed was based in Europe, which, of course, INSEAD is an awesome b-school. I can't say much about the EMBAs for any school only because I haven't experienced it, nor have I gone through the application process of it. As far as I know, EMBA and MBA are really two different things, and the mentality of the two different applicants are really not the same. I think by stating that the EMBA at INSEAD is considered more presitigious than the FT MBA is not really true, because depending how you judge prestige things can go either way. I'd like to think that whatever route you take that'll get you to where you want to go is the best way to do it - prestige comes in only the years that you attend the school and perhaps 3 or 5 more years after you graduate, after that no one really cares about where you went to school anymore. Overall, INSEAD is a fantastic school that's absolutely on par with the top b-schools in the states and INSEAD will definitely lead you to a water well, but you will still have to do the legwork of pulling that water up, whether it's through EMBA or MBA.
