Would request you to have a look at my profile below and suggest the possible schools I should be looking at and also please suggest should I consider retaking my GMAT.

Nationality: Indian
Graduation: 
GPA: 6.8 out of 10, 
Electrical & Electronics Engineering, VTU - Visveswaraiah Tech University (India) - 2004

GMAT Score: 700 (Q -47, V -39)

Work Experience:
Total Work Ex: 10 years across Management Consulting & Manufacturing

Current profile: Principal Consultant (Manager) – Operations & Supply Chain Consulting- PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC, India)

Work Ex Industry: Manufacturing – 3 Years (Unilever / Cadbury)
Management Consulting (Operations) – 7 years (Frost & Sullivan / PwC)

International exposure: Limited to Asia with 3 Months in Singapore/ Malaysia

Extra-curricular activities:
Child Education(Adopted a Girl child and funding her education) / Online campaigner for WWF / Photography.

Target MBA: Top Ranked MBA (Europe/ Asia/ US)

How old are you? What gender?

Also, if you could elaborate more about your work experience, it would be very helpful: Do you lead any people? How are your reviews? How many promotions have you gotten? At what speed relative to others? Do you have any notable achievements you can write about?

Hey Jon,

Thanks for your time.... below are some more details...

Gender: Male
Age: 30 years
 
Current Role: As an Principle Consultant I lead Multiple consulting assignments across some large organizations in the India, with each project team having a team size between of 1-3 Consultant/Sr.Consultant reporting to me, . I currently Manage 3 such projects.

Career Movement: I have seen 5 promotions in last 9 years, either in the same organization of through change of job for a higher role. I think that is relatively faster than the normal industry standard, also I am one of the very few Non-MBA Principle Consultants in PwC and have seen 2 Promotions in last 4 Years.

Details of the same are as below:

Cadbury: Graduate Engineer Trainiee - Manufacturing

Unilever: Manufacturing Excellence Coordinator

Frost & Suliivan: Consultant- Process Consulting

PwC: Consultant, Operation & Supply Chain Consulting

PwC: Sr.Consultant, Operation & Supply Chain Consulting

PwC: Principle Consultant, Operation & Supply Chain Consulting

Notable achievements: 
1) Have Transformed Loss making organization in to profitable once in some of the consulting assignments that I have led.
2) At Unilever the Factory achieved JIPM TPM award under my leadership. ( JIPM TPM of Japan is similar to Deming Award of US)
3) Have won new consulting assignments for the organization through Business development.( not some thing expected at my level)

Leadership: 
Was a prefect is School / Class Rep in Engineering / Founder of a College innovation Club called Quest.

Great! Now I have a clearer idea of where you stand. Sooooo, in your profile the CONS are: - You come from the toughest of applicant pools, as an Indian Male... Thank your lucky stars you aren't in tech!

But this still makes things tough. - Your undergrad school and GPA are not that fantastic, - The volunteer work is a bit light. PROs - You are in a fantastic industry, with a lot of experience - You have moved up very quickly and have some exceptional stuff in your profile (most importantly, being the only non-MBA, and you should definitely be writing this on every application you send in) - You have management experience. So in general, your WE is far better than average, but some of the other things are a bit less... I'd say preeeetty roughly, that your range of schools should be somewhere between 10-35 in the rankings, and would suggest you find most of your schools in this range (and then maybe one safety school out). Really, for you to advance in management consulting, any school could be good... so to make up your list, think about what draws you to the school (companies that recruit from specific schools should be a big factor for you). I don't think there's that much point to retaking your GMAT. You have a 700 which is a fantastic grade... and that much higher will not necessarily make your application more convincing. Instead work on making the best essays you can.
