Below are my profile details.

Age: 24 years
Nationality/Gender: Indian female.
Work Ex: 2 years with Accenture India as a software analyst since the last 2 years.
GMAT: 700
College: Jaypee University Of Information Technology
Major: Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science
GPA: 3.1
Year of graduation: 2012

Academics:
High School: 90%
Intermediate: 89%
B.tech : 81%
Gold medalist at school for academic excellence for continuous 6 years.

Extra-curricular:
National level swimmer
Social worker with an NGO for helping the under priveleged and uneducated kids.
Active participant in blood donation camps
Learnt French for 4 years.
Particpated and won many singing/dance/acting competitions throughout school and college.
Heading the Fun At Work team for my project to host team building activities and morale boosting activities for the employees.

Target Programs:
MBA, MIS

Plan to Apply in 2014 for admission in 2015.

Post MBA goal: To work in consulting.

P.S.- I will not be able too retake the GMAT.

Thanks for posting your profile.

I would say you have the following going for you:

-several years of software analyst experience at Accenture; likely strong analytical, technical & project management skills
-community involvement & interest in and dedication to extracurricular activities
-respectable GMAT

And the following challenges:

-GPA lower than averages at top programs
-slightly less than average years of work experience-- so if you are definitely applying now, you'll want to convey how you've had a lot of quality experiences in the time you've been working; and to explain the WHY-- why the MBA and why now is the right time for you
-unsure if you feel you have had sufficient leadership experience or exposure, and more on what you've accomplished professionally & personally??

Ideally you'd likely look outside the top 15 or so for better chances, and then look at what schools are strong in producing consultants if that is important to you; check out employment/hiring statistics at each program you consider. Thanks for your reply. Got my AWA score, its a 6 on 6. :D
Can you tell me what are my chances in the schools below for MBA:

1. Ross michigan
2. Duke Fuqua
3. NYU Stern
4. Texas A&M
5. Indiana Kelley
6. Emory Goizueta
7. St. Louis Olin
8. UNC Kenan Flager
9. McCombs UT Austin

Also, if you could suggest some schools as per your experience, it would be very helpful.

Hiya,

So from your list, Stern will be the biggest reach and possibly pretty tough. Following that would be Duke & Ross, still somewhat reach but not as much as Stern. The others on the list are more within-range and it may come down to how well you tell your story in your essays, and how you stack up against the rest of the applicant pool in a given school. Not sure you need any more school suggestions as it's already quite a long list-- you may want to narrow it down slightly.

Keep in mind each application is pretty involved and should be tailored to that school!
