Hi there,
Thanks for your post and lots of details.
Based solely on the info you provided here, I'd notice the following strengths:
-GMAT! Congrats on that score which will help you stand out as an elite performer and increase your odds if the rest of your app is strong.
-sounds like solid work experience, and the promotion is good, and exposure to various industries and a few functions... but without more of a resume review or discussion I'm not entirely clear here; your comment about 'professional ADD'

is a little concerning-- have you actually changed jobs quite frequently? or are you just referencing various projects etc? Also within your work experience schools would be looking for evidence of leadership ability; teamwork skills; and impact made.
-your design & creative experience is an interesting aspect to include
And the following potential challenges or weaknesses:
-some q's or concerns raised above-- whether you actually changed jobs?; also whether you feel you have some leadership experiences you could cite etc
-at the moment goals are a bit uncertain/unclear
-not sure if you have any community involvement
With regard to your q's...
1) If I am not fit for my current dream school like Kellogg, what should I do in this one year to become eligible by next year R1?
I wouldn't rule out your chances at Kellogg; you would just need to strengthen your story and overall plan for your career and why you need the MBA, and why Kellogg is the right place for you. As for improving your profile-- if you did take more time on it, I'd a) look to make even more impact at work and develop some leadership experiences; b) consider community involvement, and c) do some more research both on your career plans and on schools to strengthen your explanations in your apps.
2) I want to understand which schools may be good fit for an applicant with my background/work exp/aspirations? What are the top ranked schools I can consider within reach?
I think your school list is reasonable; beyond that, while top 5 or so will be difficult for anyone, beyond that with strong applications I would think you'll have decent chances if you can nail down your story a bit more.

3) Given my background and work experience, what should be easier to justify: a marketing role post-MBA, a General Management role, or a Consulting role? I am open to all three. If Consulting is the way to go, what kind of consulting? (My ultimate goal is to do something which has a creative aspect to it)
I think here you could make a case for any of those options, so I would try to do some research.... read all you can, speak to people in the types of roles you are considering; try doing some informational interviews with recruiters and/or professionals at companies/roles you'd consider and see what seems to get you most excited and seems to make sense to you, honestly... that will usually come across best on an app anyway-- the option you are most genuinely interested in.
4) Any advice on which industry should I target post-MBA, since I have not decided yet? (same comments as #4)
5) Should I apply this year in R2? or wait for next year R1? Up to you; consider the points I made in #1 about what you could do during that time and see if you think it is worth waiting or not. I mean GMAT wise and probably career wise you seem 'ready' (unless you have had a lot of recent job changes etc); you could ask yourself what you think you'd accomplish professionally most of all if you waited a year and decide whether that is strengthening your app or not.
Good luck on the process! If you'd like to speak in more depth with a consultant, you can also look into our free 30 minute consultations, at
