Hi , Please review my profile and suggest me colleges in which i can target. I am looking for B-schools in USA and would like to work there post MBA .
Academics : State board
X - 88% (2005)
XII - 79% (2007)
WBUT (West Bengal University of technology)
B.Tech (Electronics & Communication) - 79.3% (2007-2011)
Work Experience:
1. For 2.5 years , i've worked in Tata Consultancy Services as Java Developer under Banking vertical in Global Trade Domain.
2. For 8 months , i've worked as Application Developer in HCL Technologies in Product Development.
3. For the last 2 years , i am working in J.P.Morgan Chase as Application Developer and Module Lead in Global Trade Domain
Certifications :
1. Certificate Exam In International Trade Finance by IIBF.
Extra Curricular :
1. Captain of School and College Football Team.
2. Developed application for Akshay Patra to help the physically challenged in job seeking. I do not have any certificate to prove this.
3. Took active participation in organization initiatives like "Clean the Lake","Reach the Underprivileged" etc.
Hobbies: 1. Reading Novels and poetry.
2. Playing Computer Games.
Now , I am planning to sit for GMAT on November and expecting 700 around score. I would like to pursue MBA in Investment Banking Programs. Please provide me the list of colleges in which i can start looking for and can i get scholarship with this profile? Also, what are my chances of getting admission in Fall 2018?

Hi Sayandhar,
You are what the MBA admissions world likes to refer as a typical Indian candidate. Don't worry everyone loves international students, after all you will be paying big bucks. What the former sentence implies is that you need to distinguish your application from other such candidates. And since your work ex and under grad are pretty much the same, GMAT plays an important role. So does your community service involvement, ideally in a leadership role. And not participation but accomplishments. The app (Akshay Patra) that you developed is pretty awesome. Usually you are not required to present a certificate, rather I would look up that app online and look for your name. This maybe your distinguisher.
To answer your questions. Yes given a good GMAT score you can get scholarships. On an average 45% of students get some form of scholarship, bursary or financial aid. Secondly, your chances will depend on your target schools. Leaving aside Top 10, your chances are pretty good. To shortlist schools we wil have to work together on researching schools and finding a good fit. You may peruse top schools in finance on the link below.

If you take your GMAT in November'17, you are targeting Round 2. If possible you should take the GMAT in July and target Round 1. The probability of getting in reduces by more than 50% from Round 1 to Round 2 to Last Round.

I will agree with a previous comment that you are presenting fairly typically- why are you waiting for Nov to take GMAT?
I think you will present best in the earliest round you can apply- as in some cases your best bet for success is to apply in an early round and show great interest. I'm not sure a 700 is going to break through the crowd for you in a top 10 US MBA program. If you are looking for US programs and looking to switch to I-Banking, try for several things- get that GMAT more like 740, try to get some exposure to I-banking prior to B school even if it is just a pre-MBA internship after you are accepted for a few months, go DEEP into schools for connections and research. Look beyond top 10, schools like Emory, UNC Kenan-Flagler, Vanderbilt, NYU will offer you some connections. Apply the earliest round you can get a strong GMAT score. Don't wait until November if you don't have to as then you are in the most crowded round. Best wishes!
