Thank you in advance for your help! I am a Chinese American female, age 25 looking to apply to the following schools: Kellogg, Johnson (dual program with MILR), USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley

GPA: 3.75 at University of Southern California
GMAT: 710

Work Experience:
2.5 years in retail management
-no promotions but took on responsibility as district trainer in my second year and trained other leaders
-also was invited to annual leadership meeting for those who show high potential (out of 7 leaders in our district, I was the only one invited)
-consistently led team to top 5 in meeting our metrics out of 62 teams in our group
-recruited over 50 people every year for seasonal hires
-leadership: led 4 shift leaders and 50 team members
.5 year in entry level recruiting
-was interested in recruiting and HR from previous job and decided to make a career switch into recruiting
-voted top employer who consistently look for ways to improve processes

Extracurricular:
-run marathons and actively participates in company and local running clubs
-was a tour guide and student ambassador in undergrad

Goals post MBA:
-looking to obtain a HR management role

My goal schools are Kellogg and Cornell but not sure what my chances are. Also I'm curious to ask if I should retake my GMAT? Since my work experience doesn't show any quantitative skills, I'm assuming my GMAT score is on the lower side. It would be my third time taking the test if I were to retake it.

Hey there good to hear from you!

So I think that if you apply to all the programs on your list, it is a pretty solid list that is also well-balanced with your profile.

I would love to understand a bit more about what you have done and who you have worked for... but as far as work experience goes, retail management is not necessarily a "top job" for top schools, so yes, if you can get a higher GMAT it is most definitely a very very good idea, esp for Kellogg.

Other than that I would be curious to know what else you have in your profile in terms of extra curricualrs, volunteer work, leadership and the like.

Best,
