Dear Puja,
This is with reference to your profile evaluation request on the ISB Profile evaluation thread.
I am an ISB alum, CO14, and run an admission consulting firm, CrackAdmission (
www.crackadmission.com) and would be happy to evaluate your candidature.
Below is my take on your profile
Academics: Average ;
Work Experience: While JP Morgan is a good brand to have in your profile, what about other companies you have been associated with. Also, how was your career progression during the 7 years. With an experience that is greater than the avg. work ex of ISB, admission committee will expect strong leadership examples from you. These need to be articulated well in the essays
GMAT : 720 is above the median of ISB (which is 710). Hence, gives a hygiene check.
Extra Curricular : Varied ; however you will need to stress on ONLY one of your extra curricular and demonstrate how you have been committed to it. Note that neither does ISB ask you to provide certificates NOR is NGO association a mandate. What matters is how passionately you have done an extra curricular and what is your motivation to continue it.
Goals : You will need to articulate very clearly how did you decide on doing an MBA only after 7 years – why is this the right time, and what career progression do you have in mind and what specific role will ISB play in the same.
Overall, with an impactful application (essays + form + LOR), you should have a good chance of making it to ISB.
