MBADecoder, thanks for the input! Your response to my OE is the prevailing thought so I'm glad I reached out about it. Also great point about how that ties into how Adcoms will view this with joint degrees.

Perfect! I am glad to help :)

Hi there fellow Californian!

First of all, I would avoid taking a defensive posture with your GMAT results. Nothing is so astronomically bad that it warrants explanation and I think it is a far better strategy to direct their attention to all that is special and unique about you.

For your school goals, I think it would be wise of you to retake, given your demographic (your GMAT needs to be 20+ points over the average - the mentorship stuff helps but won't separate you completely from Asian competitors.) But if you don't, take a no excuses approach in my opinion.

Why do you feel you need a dual degree program? I don't know if that is actually necessary; for example of one of my clients was an aeronatical engineer and was recruited into FB for his internship. Might want to look into the MMM program at Kellogg but this is geared somewhat to startup founders.

Make sure to quantify impact of everything you are doing at work, but also, focus on the value you have delivered with the EC shiz - show me how your mentorship has been successful and changed lives. This is a good way to win their hearts.
